L’Oreal Miss Manga Mega Volume in Black Angel & Benefit Gimme Brow || REVIEW / DEMO

Hello everyone!

Today I have another review for you.. I know I’ve been all about reviews lately, but I’ve got so many new products lately, and I just have to talk about them. Today I have another demo/review on a new mascara I’ve been trying out for a few months now, since I’ve hauled it.

I did a similar post on another L’Oreal mascara back in summer, and I’ve realized that that is actually the best way of comparing mascaras. Basically I put one mascara on one eye and another one on my other eye. That way I can compare them on the spot, see what they do to my lashes, see how they wear and I know right away which one I like better. This time, I did the same, but I also applied gimme brow on one eyebrow, but I only filled in the other one. So, let’s see what worked better:

My left eye (on the right hand side) was my favorite mascara, which is Smoky eyes by Maybelline and L’Oreal Miss Manga is on my right eye (left hand side). Now I will share my thoughts on each of them.

Maybelline mascara separates lashes really well, almost every lash is individual. It gives a nice curl (I don’t use eyelash curler, ever), it’s great for daytime looks, because it’s not too black or too dramatic. I think it looks really pretty, because it gives both volume and length and adding more layers doesn’t clump the lashes.

L’Oreal Miss Manga, on the other side, is much more black and dramatic. It doesn’t separate my lashes as well as the Maybelline one. Because the wand is bendy and not fixed, it can be tricky, I did poke my eye a few times already 😀 but once you get used to it, it’s not really a problem, but I do feel like it’s absolutely not necessary, and it makes absolutely no difference in the mascara’s performance.

It holds a curl even better than Maybelline, and it gives a lot more volume and length. It’s a night time mascara, but it can be clumpy. It is trickier to layer, because it gets clumpy really easily, and the more you layer, the more lashes stick together.

To be completely honest, I don’t know which one I like better. I do love that Miss Manga is so black and dramatic, but Maybelline one is prettier in the sense that it separates lashes beautifully. I use them in different occasions and it pretty much depends on my mood.

And now for the gimme brow. I’ve been using Essence eyebrow stylist set (a powdery product) to fill in my brows for as long as I remember. My eyebrows are pretty fair, so I have to use something (if I’m wearing makeup) to fill them in, or they are completely invisible… In addition to that, my eyebrows are not thick, so even when I do fill them in, if you look closely, they don’t look nice and full. (I may want to try an eyebrow pencil, I know). Anyways, after I fill them in, they look better, but they are not in place, and I have to fix them throughout the day. That is why I was super excited when I got Gimme Brow by Benefit as a sample and was able to try something new.

It came in a small little container with 1g or 0.03oz of product, but it actually will last me quite a long time. It is a brow-volumizing fiber gel. It has a tiny brush, but what I don’t like is that it actually picks up a lot of product. So, when I try to apply it on my brows, it’s quite wet and I end up with too much product that looks too shiny. However, after I smooth everything out, it looks quite nice, my eyebrows don’t move and it also adds a bit of color. It doesn’t feel crunchy on my lashes and it doesn’t shed. You can see it on my right eyebrow, or left hand side of the photo.

Right side is just Essence, and I guess you can tell that that side is a lot more messy than the other one.
Since I haven’t really tried many products for brows, I can’t really say that it’s better or worse than something else, but I do like it. The small brush is quite nice and I am going to continue using it until I use it up.

And now, this was my full face for the day 🙂

Have you tried any of these products? Do you like them? Would you like to try them?

P.S. Thank you all for supporting me in my last post! I want you to know that I’ve read all of the comments, but haven’t had the time to reply to you all.. I promise I will do that this week, as soon as I catch some spare time. I really appreciate all of the support you guys gave me and all your advice is really helpful. I was so happy when I saw that there are so many people that struggle with the same issues as me and that understand me and don’t judge me. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart 🙂 xx
