Our Trip to London || 7 day itinerary || Part one!

Hello everyone!

I’m pretty sure all of you know by now that I was in London ๐Ÿ˜€ Anyways, today I am going to tell you what we did each day and what our plan looked like. There was so much more amazing food, but it was so good that I forgot to take a picture ๐Ÿ˜€

London street food is amazing, and I really recommend eating at markets every day!

Day 1, Saturday

We arrived to London on Saturday, February 13 at around 2 p.m. local time, but it took a while to get our luggage and get out of the airport. We used the tube to get into town centre and I have to say, it really is super cheap. To get from zone six to zone 2 (but on the other side), we spent ยฃ1.50. When I compare this to other things in London, that’s a bargain! Also, if you’re coming for 7 days, get a Travelcard loaded onto Oyster. If you use tube more that 4 times a day each day, it’s way better to get that instead of the regular pay as you go Oyster.

I’m not sure if I mentioned this in any of my previous posts, but our accommodation was via Airbnb. It’s way cheaper than staying in a hotel, and we were still around 10 minutes using the tube from the centre. We were staying in Clapham, tube Clapham South. A very nice neighbourhood, with a lot of beautiful houses, and the cars around there were amazing! I had to take a photo of the houses…

Anyways, on Saturday we didn’t plan anything. I just had a maybe next to the Brixton market in case we make it, but it was not that important. We ended up getting a bit lost (not really, but yes :D), and we came to the apartment around 5:30 p.m. But we did make it, right? ๐Ÿ˜€ Our hosts welcomed us, they were super friendly and super helpful! If you want to know who they were, let me know. Also, if you want some extra credit for Airbnb, let me know ๐Ÿ™‚ That day we just took a walk around the neighbourhood and we found a Sainsbury’s and spent around an hour there ๐Ÿ˜€ We’ve never heard about that store before, so we fell in love ๐Ÿ˜€

Day 2, Sunday

We heard that Camden is the most amazing on Sundays, so we had to give it a go. At first, we found this little market with clothes and shoes and miscellaneous things, and I thought to myself… so that’s it? I was slightly disappointed, to be honest. Well, then we found the actual market ๐Ÿ˜€

The food market to be exact. And it was amazing. You walk around among hundreds of people, and on every stand, people are handing you food to try.

And you can’t decide what looks best. This is where the food was so amazing that I didn’t even take a picture ๐Ÿ˜€

What you are seeing is a tiny part of the market. We didn’t even manage to see the half of it, but we had to get going. However, we did manage to buy most of our souvenirs there, since we’ve heard that that’s where those things are the cheapest.

On the same day, we went through Regent’s Park, where London Zoo is situated (and no, we didn’t go to the zoo, because we didn’t want to spend money on the entrance fee). Through the park, we walked to the famous Abbey Road, where 20 people try to cross the pedestrian crossing at all times, and the cars are honking, at all times ๐Ÿ˜€ Quite the funny scene. That is the very reason why we didn’t take a picture on the crossing ๐Ÿ˜€

We were going to go to Kensington Gardens, but it was quite dark already (we spent sooo much time in Camden, but it was worth it!), so we wanted to move on and go to Hyde Park. When we got there, it was already quite dark, but we managed to walk around for a few minutes before it was night.

Since we didn’t see a lot of Hyde Park, we decided to reschedule for another day and go to Harrod’s.

It was impressive, I guess, but not what I expected it to be. We were in there for at least 30 minutes, and we didn’t leave the jewelry section ๐Ÿ˜€ Not what I’m looking for when shopping (not that I would shop there). I was more impressed with the outside, than inside, to be honest. We ended our night with a pint of beer, ยฃ5.50 each ๐Ÿ˜€ That I thought was crazy! We think ยฃ1.50 is to much when drinking here in Croatia. For one beer in London, we can have 5 in Croatia. But it was a fun day, and we wanted to end it with a pint.

Day 3, Monday

Monday was the day for all the major attractions. We saw Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Parliament, Buckingham Palace, London Eye and Portobello Road market.

We wanted to see the changing of the guard, which starts at 11:30 every odd day during winter and every day during summer, so we were in front of the Buckingham Palace at 11. However, we didn’t really know where to stand, and of course we were on the wrong side ๐Ÿ˜€ However, I did manage to take some cool shots of the guard, and again, we decided to reschedule for two days after and stand on a better place.

No, they are not in red, and no, you can’t take a photo with a guard. I guess it’s a new thing, or a winter thing, but we wanted to find a guard to take a photo with and a policeman told us it wasn’t possible.

I was pretty much like a little kid when I saw Big Ben. We tried to take a selfie with it and failed terribly around 30 times, so we asked a Bobby to take a photo of us with Big Ben ๐Ÿ˜€

Notting Hill was absolutely amazing. The houses are adorable, shops are the cutest ever and you can find everything and anything there. We didn’t find the famous blue door, but it wasn’t really that important to me ๐Ÿ˜€

This was one of the pizza shops. Adorable! We didn’t really eat anything special that day, I think we ate at McDonald’s actually ๐Ÿ˜€ so I didn’t take a photo of it.

That’s it for the part one! I was going to make one post, but I realized I want to show you so much and have so many photos, so I decided to break it into two. I will write another post this week.

Also, I was wondering if you’d like to see my tips and tricks for London. I have learned quite a lot and think I can share a lot with you and help you if you’re planning to go there sometime in the near future.
