Hello everyone!
Today I have a new Pinterest inspired nail art post. I went to a wedding on July 4th, and I had a pretty neutral dress, so I decided to spice it up with colorful nail art and makeup. I hope you’ll like what I did. Outfit post will also be up sometime in the future 😀 Also, feel free to follow me on Pinterest 😉
So, I forgot my little notebook with all the names of the polishes 😀 I am so sorry I won’t be able to tell you exactly what I used, but you can still just use similar colors.
Here is the photo of everything I used to achieve this look:
Besides the polishes, I also used some white floral and butterfly stickers, silver rhinestones and some rectangular glitters.
Step one
You know the drill, I cleaned and filed my nails, pushed cuticles, and then I applied a coat of white polish as a base in order to make colors I’m about to use stand out more.
Step two
Then I went over the white polish with two coats of a neon yellow/green polish.
Step three
After that I took a sponge and applied (kind of messily) orange polish around the top part of the nail, and a darker green polish on one side of the bottom part of the nail.
Step four
After that I added a coat of clear polish, and placed some stickers kind of randomly on each nail. I did the same with rhinestones, as well as the glitter flecks. I did have some sponge sticking out, because my sponge is really old and I really have to buy a new one 😀 so I tried to cover those places with either stickers, rhinestones or glitter.
Step five
I finished the design by adding another coat of clear polish to seal everything in.
Also, here are a few photos where you can see details more closely.
It has now been quite a few days since I did this design, but I have to tell you that I’m really happy that it lasted almost entirely until Saturday (so 8 days). That is the longest I’ve had a nail design I did myself without it chipping or looking gross. Here is what it looked like on Saturday:
And that’s it for today’s post!
Did you like this nail art? Would you do it yourself? I think it looks way more complicated than it is, and you should definitely try it 😉
Thank you for reading!
See you soon xx
