Recenzija brenda ColourPop

Hello everyone!

Brand review ColourPop

Today I am here with a brand new brand review. This time it’s ColourPop, and I can’t even tell you how excited I was to get my package and start trying everything out. I’ve been hearing so much about ColourPop from many YouTubers, so when I finally decided to place an order, I was super excited to receive it and tell you all about it.

If you don’t know, I currently have a ColourPop coupon code giveaway, so make sure you go there to see al the details. My package was a bit delayed, and it ended up in the customs, where they shattered two of the items, but go to the giveaway post and you’ll see all about it.

Anyways, I decided to order items for around $30. That was my budget. I ended up spending just under $30, and I was really proud of myself. I placed my order on Black Friday, so I had 20% off lip stuff. I decided to order 1 highlighter, 1 single eyeshadow, 1 full size lipstick, and 1 set of 5 mini lipsticks. Quite a nice deal, right? Let’s start with products.

Highlighter Smoke N Whistles $8

This is a gorgeous highlighter. I actually saw Kathleen Lights mention it in one of her videos, and I don’t own that many highlighters, so I had to get at least one. It is quite glittery, but it’s really really tiny specks of glitter. You won’t end up looking like a giant disco ball. It’s really light, kind of silver, or even white toned, so I think this would suit most of the skintones, especially light ones.

However, I find it really hard to work with using a brush. Since it’s so soft and creamy, brush barely picks anything up. This may be due to the fact that it came broken (which I’m dealing with right now), but I prefer using my finger to apply this. Kind of inconvenient, but it works.

I’d give this product 4/5.

Eyeshadow Sequin $5

You may already know that I’m totally obsessed with eyeshadow and colours on my eyelids. I knew I had to pick out at least one eyeshadow, since there’s so much hype around them. I decided, once again influenced by Kathleen, to go for this warm toned, bronzy, almost orange, but kind of red eyeshadow (that’s my description of this colour, and I’m sticking to it :D). It has gorgeous silver specks of glitter, and it’s quite unique, but not really. My Betty-Lou is actually quite similar, but this is more red, and definitely stands out more.

The problem with it, that I occurred, was the fact that applying this with a brush is almost impossible. I tried different brushes, but it just isn’t as gorgeous as when doing it with a finger. I didn’t even swatch it for you using a brush, because it’s not worth it. Just use your finger, and you’ll be just as amazed as I am. On the photo above you can see the colour, and on the photo below, you can see how it reflects light.

This product is going to get a 4.5/5.

Liquid lipstick Femme $4.80 (discounted price)

Since I’ve heard that ColourPop Ultra Matte Lips are very drying and not comfortable, I decided to get Ultra Satin Lips only. So this Femme one is a Satin, as well as every single one in the mini kit I will talk about in a little bit.

femme

Femme is a gorgeous purple, with a hint of grey. I actually have no idea how to describe it. It’s quite dark for me, but I actually really enjoy wearing it. I think it’s really unique. To be honest, I expected something different when I was looking at the photo on their website, but I’m really happy as it is. By the way, be careful about lipstick colours, they can be a bit deceiving. A friend of mine got one that way way off, even from the packaging.

I wore this one on my Friday night out and it lasted a really long time. Especially if you consider the fact that I drank beer from the bottle wearing this (classy, right?). It did kind of break apart at the end of the night, but I didn’t want to reapply it, just to see what it would look like at the end of the night. On the photo above you can see the lip swatch, and on the photo above, you can see what it looked like at the end of the night.

I give this one a 5/5.

On A Whim mini set $14.40 (discounted price)

On A Whim is a set of 5 Ultra Satin Lips. However, I have to say, these are tiny! You get 1/5 of the amount of a full size lipstick. Full size is 3.2g/0.11oz, whereas the small ones are 0.64g/ 0.02oz. That means that you can get at least 3 full size lipsticks for the price of this set. So maybe not the best investment, but what can you do 😀

However, these are awesome to try as many as possible to see which ones you’d like to get in full size. In this particular set, you get Magic Wand, Dopey, Mess Around, Stud and Toolips.

All of them are quite easy to apply. You do have to be careful not to stain your skin around the lips, but they glide on pretty nicely. Also, once they’re set, they are not going anywhere (including Femme)! Now let’s see each one.

Magic Wand

magic wand

Magic Wand is a nude, but quite a warm toned nude. It kind of reminds me of Myth by MAC, but quite darker. It even has some peach tint to it. I think this would look amazing on fair toned girls.

Dopey

dopey

Here is where I’m lost at describing colours. It’s sort of a berry colour, but toned down. Almost like brave by MAC. I’m so mad at myself I didn’t take those with me to try to compare them. This is a gorgeous colour, really. It’s quite neutral and not bold at all. Kind of your lips but better. Everyone could probably pull this one off.

Mess Around

mess around

This one is definitely a deceiving one. Packaging makes you think it’s going to be a nice nude, but it’s actually a brown. It even has some yellow to it, so it’s sort of khaki. Not sure how I feel about this one, but I will definitely give it a try.

Stud

stud

Stud is a gorgeous redish colour, kind of like terracotta, but it does have some brown to it. That’s definitely more within my comfort zone than Mess Around or the next one I’ll talk about. I can’t wait to do a makeup look with it.

Toolips

toolips

This is the last product in the mini set and by far the boldest. This is a true brown, which is warm toned, but it’s so dark, you can barely tell. I’m very curious as to how it looks on the lips. I will keep you posted. Stepping out of my comfort zone. 2017. And stuff.

I will give this whole set a 3.5/5.

Final thoughts

I have to say, every hype out there I heard is true. These are some amazing products, and I wish we had ColourPop in Europe, because the fees I had to pay were terrible. So I don’t think I will be ordering more ColourPop any time soon. I really hope they’ll be available on BeautyBay, or something 😀

I am definitely excited to play more with all of these, and I would love to try out more! I am very sad that my highlighter is shattered and I can’t use it to the fullest, but what can you do.

I think ColourPop is an amazing brand, and if any of you want to order, wherever you are, and have the money to do so, do it! You will not be disappointed. For international shipping, if you spend over $50 you get free shipping, and for domestic shipping you have to spend $30 for free shipping.

And that’s it for today’s post! Do you own anything by ColourPop? Did you enter my giveaway? What would you like to get from ColourPop? Which of the things I mentioned do you like the most?

Thank you for reading!

See you soon x
