I honestly can’t remember the last time I did a single product review. Okay, that’s a lie, I did the L’Oreal Paradise Extatic mascara a while back, but it’s not really something I tend to do. However, I am quite impressed with this product, and I would really love to share it with you. I think this is a true gem, and everyone should know about it. It is the newest addition to my lipstick collection, and just after one week of having it, I am already impressed and have an opinion to share with you.
About the product
Let me start by saying that Kryolan is a professional make-up brand. What is meant by this? It means that this brand is used on television, in theater, by professional makeup artists around the world. However, the thing that surprised me when I first learned about it around a month and a half ago (I heard about it before that, but never really looked into it) were their prices. They are not what you would expect, considering what this brand represents and who uses it.
But let’s focus on the lipstick. The lipstick itself is in a plastic container. You may wonder why it is so. Most makeup artists depot their lipsticks, and don’t need the containers, since they make their kits that much heavier. So, why spend money on expensive packaging, when you can have a cheaper product this way. Most of the powdery and creamy products will come just in the metal container and plastic wrap, so you can immediately put it in your Z-palette or the like.
You will get 3.5 g of product, which is basically what you usually get +/- 0.5 g. For example, MAC lipsticks are 3 g. This lipstick, however, is $9.50, which means it’s almost double the MAC price. I think that’s pretty amazing.
I was immediately drawn to this shade. This is Lipstick Fashion in the shade LF423. I really love these your-lips-but-better shades. Even though this is absolutely not a nude, I think it’s actually quite similar to my lip color, and these are exactly the shades I think suit me the best.
You probably already know that I am absolutely terrible at describing colors, but let’s give it a try. I would call this a cool-toned berry shade that is a little bit toned down, that isn’t matte, but it’s not overly shiny either. How did I do? 😀
I think it feels really good on the lips. While the MAC lipsticks can be a bit too hard, and don’t glide as easily (satin ones, at least), this one is very creamy, and it feels creamy on the lips for quite some time. It doesn’t dry out the lips at all.
I even think that it wears really well, because as it starts to fade on the lips, it becomes even prettier color and blends into the lips even nicer. However, if you are expecting a super-long lasting lipstick, you will be disappointed, because this is not it. It will last for a good 4 hours without reapplying, though.
I am definitely impressed with this lipstick. It’s a perfect color that you can wear everyday, with very natural makeup, as well as at night, when your makeup is a bit more bold. I love the color, I love the texture, and I think I am going to enjoy this lipstick a lot.
And that’s it for this post! Have you ever tried anything from Kryolan? What is your favorite brand of lipsticks?
Thank you for reading!
